Blanchard Auto Electric began life just before WWII on Blanchard St & 4th Ave in Downtown Seattle. After an interruption for the war, operations resumed in 1947 on Airport Way S in what is now the SODO District. The business was Incorporated in 1962. F.A. "Babe" Yates became a partner in 1965 and within a few years bought out the rest of the company. Babe continued to work into his 80's until health forced his retirement. The business continues on into its third generation of the Yates family with his son Bob and Grandson Scott, along with a great group of longtime employees.

In 2010, the operating name was changed to Blanchard Electric & Fleet supply to better reflect our position in the Heavy Duty market.

In February 2015, Blanchard moved out of the SODO District, just a few miles south along Boeing Field, opening it's new location on March 2, 2015.
